Grandmother acts as surrogate for Weston daughter

The following was submitted by a representative of Cardone Reproductive Medicine and Infertility in Stoneham:
Most grandmothers are content to give their grandchildren presents at the holidays and for birthdays. But Donna Schultz gave her oldest daughter’s third child the most precious gift – the gift of life.
In doing so, she did what only a few women in the world have done.
The majority of women in their 50s are finished with raising their families. They may be thinking about spoiling their grandchildren, if they have them, and/or spending their free time working, saving for retirement or relishing their spouses and hobbies.
Donna Schultz, a nurse who enjoys traveling so much that she and her husband move around the country for her job as a traveling dialysis nurse, certainly fit that description. But when her daughter Makaih McDade of Weston was searching for a surrogate mother to carry her child, Donna did not hesitate to answer her call and do what few 51-year-old women have done – carry their next grandchild through nine months of pregnancy.
